Reports to: Director / Operations Head Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: The Biodiesel Production Manager will oversee and manage all aspects of the biodiesel production process, ensuring optimal performance, product quality, and compliance with safety and environmental standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical know-how, and problem-solving capabilities to coordinate plant operations and lead a production team. Key Responsibilities: Manage day-to-day biodiesel production activities ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous plant operations. Supervise and coordinate the production workforce including operators, maintenance staff, and quality control personnel. Monitor key production metrics (e.g., feedstock input, conversion efficiency, product yield). Maintain and improve production schedules, shift planning, and plant output targets. Ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety regulations (EHS). Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure the output meets ASTM / BIS biodiesel standards. Troubleshoot technical issues in transesterification, washing, separation, and distillation processes. Maintain inventory of raw materials (e.g., methanol, ethanol, catalyst, feedstock) and finished biodiesel. Coordinate plant maintenance and shutdown activities with the engineering team. Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports to senior management. Train and develop plant staff on best practices, SOPs, and safety protocols. Liaise with suppliers, logistics, and lab teams to ensure seamless operations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in a biodiesel, chemical, or oil processing plant. Proven experience in plant operations, process control, and team management. Knowledge of biodiesel production processes (especially transesterification, esterification, and distillation). Familiarity with quality standards such as ASTM D6751, EN 14214, or BIS standards. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, production software, and ERP systems.
